CathPack Features

Incredibly Easy to Use

The holder hangs under the front of the wheelchair seat, keeping the bag out of the way but easy to reach. The inner lining is smooth, allowing the catheter bag to slide in and out easily without getting stuck.

Versatile Fit

With adjustable ties at all four corners, this holder can be securely attached to nearly any wheelchair design. Its flexible setup also makes it easy to hang from walkers, hospital beds, or wherever is needed. Designed to adapt—so you can get creative and make it work for your unique setup.

Promotes Independence

Unlike other solutions that require the bag to be hung under or behind the wheelchair—often making users rely on caregivers—this design puts control back in the hands of the wheelchair user. It’s positioned for easy access, allowing most individuals to place and remove the catheter bag on their own, without needing extensive mobility or reach.

Helps Reduce the Risk of Infection and Injury

Traditional catheter bag setups can increase the risk of serious complications. When the bag sits above the bladder, urine can flow backward, raising the chance of a UTI. If the bag touches unsanitary surfaces like the floor, bacteria can travel up the tubing and lead to infection. Worse, if a user forgets to disconnect the bag before standing and it’s tightly secured to the wheelchair, it can cause the tubing to be pulled out—potentially leading to permanent bladder damage.
This holder is designed to hang safely below the bladder, away from the floor, and allows the bag to slide out easily—even if it’s accidentally left behind.

Decreased Fall Risk

Traditional setups often place the catheter bag out of reach, forcing wheelchair users to lean or twist dangerously—raising the risk of falls. This design keeps the bag within easy reach, supporting safer, more independent use. When used with a walker, it also helps keep the tubing secure and out of the way, reducing the risk of tripping over loose or dangling tubing.

Enhances Dignity and Privacy

For convenience, caregivers often place catheter bags on users' laps or hang them visibly on the side of the wheelchair when transporting room to room. This practice can lead to fines for nursing homes and cause embarrassment for the user. Our bag offers a discreet and convenient solution that keeps the catheter bag out of sight. It also features an optional magnetic closure, allowing for securely closing the bag without needing to look—yet the magnets easily come undone when needed for quick access or if the bag is forgotten and left behind when transferring.

Durable and Machine Washable

Crafted from two layers of high-quality materials, this bag is built to last. It’s easy to clean—simply toss it in your washing machine—and designed for long-term use. The sturdy string attachment method enhances durability, avoiding the wear and fuzz buildup that velcro often develops over time.

Our Story

As a licensed occupational therapist with over eight years of experience across hospitals, rehab centers, and home care, I’ve seen firsthand the daily challenges faced by patients who use urinary catheters—and the staff who support them.

Too often, I found myself pushing patients in wheelchairs with nowhere appropriate to hang the catheter bag. I’ve knelt on dirty floors to awkwardly attach bags, felt the guilt of watching patients wait for help, and cringed at the lack of dignity when bags were placed in laps—something that not only feels humiliating, but also increases the risk of infection.

When I couldn’t find a catheter bag holder that was safe, discreet, and truly functional in real-world care settings, I decided to create one myself. I pulled out my sewing machine and designed the solution I had spent years searching for—but never found. The result was a holder that allows the bag to slide in and out effortlessly, making it easier for both patients and staff to use. All the frustrations I had once faced were finally resolved.

As someone who also loves nature and hiking, I’ve long been bothered by the amount of waste generated in medical settings. That’s why, from day one, I prioritized durability over mass production. I wanted to create a product that would last—not just for convenience, but because sustainability matters. I made the conscious decision to focus on quality because I care about reducing waste as much as I care about improving patient care.

Once I saw how well the design worked for my patients, I knew it wasn’t just a solution for me—it was something that could help so many others. That’s why I created the CathPack: to restore dignity, reduce infection risk, and make daily care easier, more sustainable, and more respectful—for patients and caregivers alike.
